Into the Unknown - Published

 Hello Readers!

I am here to announce that a new book has been published. Into the Unknown is Book 3 of the Running Rampant series. Right now, the only available way to purchase is through Ebook. I am currently working with my cover artist for a few adjustments and then the Paperback and Hardback editions will be available to purchase as well.

I am so proud of how this book turned out. I had ZERO plans on writing more in the series, but a few embers started burning and two new characters seemed to pop up. Here's looking to you Dillon and Liam.

Here's the cover and description! I will provide a new post once the other editions are available for purchase.

Keiran Hyde, the ousted leader of the Shadowtail pack, wanted something more. A life of peace. A family and a future. When Alisa begs him to take her children because of a threat to their lives, he finds out that he has been a father for years. Shocked, he saves his children by taking them to Roaring Fork, TN only to be greeted by someone from his past. Someone he has always loved. Someone who still has his heart. And now, he is faced with more secrets.

Michelle Gibson didn’t expect to come face-to-face with the only man she had ever loved. Meeting him again opened a lot of closed doors, revealing secrets that she tried to keep hidden. Faced with the brutal honesty of her heart, she will do anything to keep Keiran in her life. Even through the pain of the revelation that Keiran was a father to her daughter Desiree.

When the threat of old enemies forces both of their hands, Keiran and Michelle are thrust into a plot to take down the Seattle Elite forever changing family ties. The only thing keeping them going is the truth that they are better together and will do whatever it takes to stay together. Even with a new threat on the horizon. The Resurrection of the Sisters of Twilight.

Kickstarter - DCW - Elements: An Anthology

Dublin Creative Writers is announcing the 2024 Kickstarter campaign for Elements: An Anthology. Here's the information. If you are interested in submitting to the anthology, there is a link in the description. I hope you can help us get to our goals.

ELEMENTS, edited by Anita Howitt, V. George and Sara Elliot, is a short story anthology with targeted publication in December 2024. Story genres will cover a wide range, each incorporating elements in a way that is essential to the plot or situation, be it as an elemental character, stakes or antagonist or even part of the situation where the story takes place.
This Kickstarter will run until a week before the submission window ends (Call for Submissions here). While this means we don't yet know the specifics of the stories or their authors, we look forward to truly unique takes from both previously published and undiscovered voices. Based on prior experience, the final product will include 15-20 stories ranging from flash fiction up to 5,000 words. With only the title and prompt above as inspiration to our authors, this collection is sure to end up a varied assembly of wonderful tales.

WHO WE ARE:
Dublin Creative Writers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing education and community for writers in Ohio and beyond. We're staffed entirely by volunteers, and our member-led activities include write-ins, technical/craft workshops, writing contests, social events, and group critique sessions. The goal of these activities is to support the professional development of members at all stages of their writing careers. We believe in the power of communal learning and deliberative practice to foster growth and produce better writing.
A major component of achieving the Dublin Creative Writers' goal of "Writing Better Together" is facilitating professional publication opportunities. To date, DCW has produced four anthologies (Broken PromisesDesideriumDead of Winter, and Untold Stories). Our most recent anthology, Untold Stories, received a First Place Award from The Bookfest 2024.
The publication experience we've gathered via these anthologies has helped our members learn about many aspects of authorship, from storycraft and revision, to manuscript formatting and submission preparation, to mentored editorial experience. With our latest anthology, we seek to continue this mission, along with providing experience in professional marketing and a stretch goal of professional pay for all contributors.

STRETCH GOALS:
$1,900 will produce the anthology and pay each of our authors a nominal stipend.
$2,200 will produce the anthology, pay each of our authors a nominal stipend, and provide each author with a paperback author copy.
$3,150 will produce the anthology, pay authors a nominal stipend, and fund professional marketing and promotion activities.
$5,650 will produce the anthology, fund professional marketing and promotion, and pay our authors $0.03/word.
$8,650 will produce the anthology, fund professional marketing and promotion, and pay our authors at the professional rate of $0.08/word.

Dublin Creative Writers - Elements: An Anthology

Hello folks! It is that time again where I share with you an opportunity to support an anthology. This year's theme is Elements.

The submissions are open. You can visit the submissions page here

Here's all the important info!

Theme: The elements (e.g., earth, air, fire, water, spirit). An element or elements must play an essential role in the story rather than merely appearing in the background. For example, authors could develop an elemental character, use an element as stakes or as an antagonist, or incorporate a prominent element into the setting.

Genre: Any fiction genre and creative nonfiction. (The Editorial Board is not considering poetry.)

Word Count: Writers may submit up to three stories in any of these categories (but no more than one Long-Short Fiction):

  • Flash Fiction (up to 1,000 words)

  • Short-Short (2,500-3,500 words)

  • Long-Short (around 5,000 words)

Reprints: Reprints may be submitted, as long as you are the author and hold the rights to publish the work.

Content: No extremely graphic violence or very explicit sexual content. The Editorial Board reserves the right to exclude work that promotes racism, homophobia, misogyny, or other prejudiced or bigoted views.

Submission Deadline: 11:59 p.m. EST (GMT-4) on June 30, 2024.

How to Submit: Please prepare your submission in standard manuscript format and submit it as an attachment to info@dublincreativewriters.com.

Submissions should be original content/characters (no fanfiction), and the author should have all rights associated with the product at the time of submission. No AI-written stories will be accepted. Simultaneous submissions are permitted, but please notify the editors immediately upon acceptance elsewhere. Dublin Creative Writers requests six months exclusive publishing rights from the time of anthology publication. Thereafter, all rights will revert to the author. The author retains copyright to the work.

Payment: DCW views paying our authors at a professional rate as a core mission activity. As an all-volunteer organization funded solely by donations, we rely on community support to execute this mission. To this end, we're running a Kickstarter campaign to enable us to cover production costs and compensate our authors. You can support DCW and your fellow writers by backing and/or promoting this project!

Publication: December 2024
